Here at NHS Orkney we want you to be involved in both your care as a patient and the work that we do.
Patient Focus – is about involving you in decisions about your care and treatment when you are a patient. We want to treat you as an individual and involve you in all stages of your care.
Public Involvement – is about involving, patients, carers and members of the public in how we plan and deliver services. We also want to include you when we develop policies and strategies. This involvement also means working with our partners in health, the local authority, and the voluntary sector.

As part of the Patient Focus and Public Involvement initiative, NHS Orkney publish a community newsletter for members of the public. The first Community Newsletter was published in June 2010. It is hoped that these newsletters will provide folk with some interesting articles about what is happening in NHS Orkney. The Newsletter is available quarterly.
