Where compassion meets adventure – NHS Orkney launches new recruitment campaign

In a week where Orkney hosts the 20th International Island Games, taking centre stage and showing off the islands basked in sunshine, we’re excited to launch our new recruitment campaign.
This fresh recruitment drive at NHS Orkney showcases our people and place and how Orkney is a great place to live and work.
We are a diverse employer with a whole range of careers and development opportunities both clinical and non-clinical, whether that’s in our state-of-the-art hospital, The Balfour, or in our many community services that support the whole community across all of our islands, including our ferry-linked isles.
Laura Skaife-Knight, Chief Executive at NHS Orkney said: “The week of the Island Games is an ideal time to launch our new recruitment campaign when the spotlight is on Orkney and when we are showcasing all that is great about living and working here. Orkney’s community is like nothing I have experienced in my career – close knit, connected, special and a community spirit that is unrivalled. We are on an exciting improvement journey and if you would like to be part of our future, please get in touch to discuss the many opportunities there are to come and work here.”
Jay O’Brien, Director of People and Culture added: “There are lots of opportunities to work and grow here, whether you’re clinical or looking for non-clinical roles. The NHS offers a career with real purpose and for anyone new to Orkney, as I was, it is a simply stunning place to live and work.”
This campaign wouldn’t have been possible without the fantastic photographs featured which were taken by Kirstin Shearer, a talented local photographer who used to be a staff member here at NHS Orkney before she took her passion for photography full-time.
