Real Life Story: Marina Davidson – Domestic/Linen Supervisor
Marina Davidson’s journey with NHS Orkney began in 1991, when she applied for a part-time domestic role after completing a two-year Caring Skills course.
“I started as a part-time domestic, then joined the laundry team – best job in the world! When changes came to the laundry, I moved into the Domestic/Linen Supervisor role.”
Marina’s career has grown alongside NHS Orkney. She completed an SVQ in Estates and Facilities Management, a challenge she embraced despite school not being her thing.
“It was a bit scary, but my tutor was so knowledgeable. I learned so much.”
Living and working in Orkney has its perks, especially when your workplace is within walking distance.
Marina’s pride in her work and her team shines through.
“If you cut me in half, I’d be NHS Orkney through and through! I work in the best team – Facilities!”
