Meghan McEwen

Meghan became Chairperson in March of 2020, having been a Non-Executive member of the Board since September 2018. Meghan had worked in community development in Orkney for 15 years previously including work to support and develop social enterprise in Orkney, as well as develop and strengthen the voluntary sector.

Meghan has an MSc in Systems Thinking in Practice and has recently participated in the Quality Governance Collaborative through the Royal College of Physicians in Edinburgh. She has a keen interest in risk management, integrated governance systems, and using both to drive improvements in the quality of care for people.

In addition to chairing the Board, Meghan also chairs the endowment fund, and sits on the Finance and Performance Committee, Remuneration Committee, Endowment Fund Sub Committee, is Vice Chair of the Orkney Community Planning Partnership, and a voting member of the IJB.
