Looking after our community and providing excellent care

New assessment centre for suspected COVID-19 (coronavirus) cases opens - Monday 23rd March 2020

From Monday 23rd March 2020 a new 24 hour a day assessment centre will open at the Health Centre on the Old Balfour Hospital site enabling us to undertake COVID-19 assessments without the risk of cross contamination at the main hospital.

The assessment centre is appointment only it’s NOT a drop-in centre. If you think you have COVID-19 symptoms you should contact NHS 24 (111) who will undertake a clinical assessment over the telephone.  If required NHS 24 will arrange a time for you to attend the Assessment Centre.

If you live on the Isles and have symptoms of COVID-19 you should contact your GP Practice.

On arrival please wait outside the front door of the Assessment Centre where a member of staff will meet at your pre-arranged appointment time.

We ask that you do not attend the assessment centre until your pre-arranged appointment time and attend alone where possible.

To protect you and our staff clinicians will be wearing Personal Protective Equipment. We ask that you wear the provided face mask to cover your mouth and nose when inside the Assessment Centre. Following your appointment please leave and follow the instructions given to you by the clinician.

Thank you for your co-operation.
