Postal Issues

We have been made aware that there remains some issues with Royal Mail at the moment and some patients have been experiencing a delay in receiving their appointment letters. If your appointment is urgent or imminent we will contact you by telephone. If you live in one of the areas affected by the postal issues and are expecting an appointment with NHS Orkney shortly and have not received an appointment letter, you can give us a ring to check on 01856 888100.
If you are expecting an appointment with NHS Grampian please contact 0345 456 6000 and ask to be put through to the relevant department. Alternatively, if you are unsure about which department to ask for, please contact The Balfour on 01856 888100 and we may be able to see if an appointment has been booked.
In addition to the above, NHS Grampian confirmed they make every effort to contact anyone who has not confirmed their attendance for an operation by telephone. When people are given appointments at short notice, whether these are for surgery or other services, patients will receive a telephone call to inform them of their appointment. For outpatient appointments, they also have a text reminder system in place.
