Tammy Sharp

Tammy joined NHS Orkney in May 2025, bringing 10 years’ experience in the NHS spanning Policy, Commissioning, and most recently, Acute based roles. Tammy holds policy related Masters and PhD qualifications and brings with her significant experience at a senior level across NHS organisations. She has experience of delivering sustainable transformational changes across Planned and Urgent Care services for the local population.

Tammy joined NHS Orkney from East Kent University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in the South-East of England, where she initially held the role of Operations Director for General and Specialist Medicine, followed more recently by Managing Director for the William Harvey Hospital. In this role she led the senior Hospital Triumvirate and was responsible for day to day running of the hospital site as well as its development; and ensuring the intended outcomes for quality, performance, finance, workforce and collaborative system working as well as to drive and implement its strategic direction.

Prior to joining the NHS, Tammy worked for a consultancy firm supporting evaluation and impact assessments of science and technology programmes and policy following completion of her PhD studies.
