Daisy Villa Surgery Contract Awarded

Following a formal procurement process, we are delighted to be in a position to confirm the future of Daisy Villa Surgery in South Ronaldsay. As of this month the Heilendi Practice in Kirkwall has been awarded the contract and will ensure the continuation of services at Daisy Villa Surgery from January 2025.

John Daniels, Head of Primary Care at NHS Orkney said "I'm really pleased to announce that, in preparation for the retirement of Drs Kemp in January, the very well-respected team at Heilendi Practice in Kirkwall have been awarded the contract. Given the national shortage of GPs, this is a great outcome for the communities of South Ronaldsay and Burray as the practice team will continue to provide all of the services previously offered, including a dispensary for prescriptions."

Dr Ingrid Seatter, GP and Partner at Heilendi Practice, said "The team at Heilendi Practice are looking forward to working with Daisy Villa to provide the ongoing care for the patients in South Ronaldsay and Burray. Our aim is to continue the high-quality care and continuity that has been provided by Drs Simon and Catriona Kemp." 

Lorna Whyte, Practice Manager at Daisy Villa, said "Following the awarding of the contract the staff at Daisy Villa are looking forward to working with the Heilendi team and are confident that this appointment will continue to provide quality care to the patients at Daisy Villa. Both teams will work together in the next few months to ensure a smooth transition."

The official handover won’t take place until January 2025 however all involved are dedicated to ensuring the transition is as smooth as possible and patients shouldn’t see any disruption to services.
